WE DID IT: no breaks, no stops, no walking!  We officially RAN our 5K.

The Chamblee Run and Rotary Roll started and ended infront of the Epps hanger in the Peachtree DeKalb airport.  It was a pretty chilly morning, at 54 degrees, and there were a few raindrops along the way.  But as soon as we started going, I appreciated the cooler weather.  The track led us from the airport, around some neighborhoods and local Brookhaven businesses and back to the hanger.  It was a much less challenging course than we are accustom to at Chastain, but you wont hear us complaining about that.

We were finally able to run 3.13 miles without a break: earning ourselves a PR of 29:14.  Taking a look back to the ShamRock and Roll post, I realize just how amazing that is.  We ran/walked the shamrock course in 34:56.  Meaning, we shaved 5:42 off our race time in just 8 weeks time.

Looking forward, there are several good 5K options around Atlanta this summer and we will be definitely be signing up for a few of them!  I dont know how much more time we will be able to shave off, but we will be working at shortening times and lengthening distances.  Next stop: 10k?
