On-Our-Own Camp today was a 40 min session of will-power. With no one watching, the temptation to give up is strong. But we both powered through and completed our homework assignment. We didn’t go to the park, because our complex offered us everything that we needed to work out: hills, steps, and a bench!
- The Warm Up – Run, 3 flights of stairs, mission impossible, & stretch
- The Workout – 1 min of step up’s followed by 20 squats and a 30 second run, repeat 5x
- The Cool Down – 1 flight of stairs, 5 min jog, and a 5 min stretch
Admittedly the homework was easier than the instructor sessions, so while it was still a challenge it was a nice Friday treat to “take it easy”. I am happy for a few days of simplified work-outs, because the instructors told us that next week would be more challenging than this week was. Yikes!
So far this has been a very rewarding experience. I have more energy when I walk out the door for work, have a sense of pride in what I have accomplished, and I get to spend just a few more moments with my best friend every morning! For today: I am grateful for all these things!
