The Shamrock -N’-Roll Road Race was a great success for the Folsom family and the Junior League of Atlanta. The event was packed full of runners of all ages and experience levels. The final posting showed the youngest at 8 and the oldest at 81! The race permitted runners and walkers with dogs so we had many 4 legged companions to run with. Perhaps, one day, Marble will be able to join in on the fun!
Charles and I set a goal to run the first two miles, walk for a minute or so, and finish by running the last mile. We were able to meet this goal and complete the race in 34:56:07. For two people that have never run 2 consecutive miles in their lives, we were thrilled with the results! We are already looking for our next race opportunity.
The weather was a perfect 46°F. A little chilly when we started, but we were comfortable by the first mile, and never got too hot by the end. Due to it being the first day of daylight savings the sun came up as we kicked off, and I was able to snap a photo on my iPhone. It was absolutely beautiful.
Big thanks to all of those that pushed us to sign up for a 5k: Kelly, Mom, Tino, JT & Ron!
