Powell Beach Weekend

Today marks the end of our beach vacation with Jes’ family. We could not have asked for a better week of weather and company and we will be sad to see everyone go their separate ways. Getting to spend time with Kelly’s kids is always a blessing since it is not something that we get to do very often. As I said last week, there was definitely a feeling of nostalgia being back on the beach that I grew up on and that feeling carried through the week. Now that we about to head out, I can remember why I enjoyed growing up here so much. Spending every day at the beach, without a care in the world, was just like the summers that I spent here during middle and high school with Austin.

Alas, the real world beckons, but not quite yet. Today we are going to stop at Lago Mar and spend the next two days with my family. Obviously it is very convenient that Kelly’s husband was sent to Norfolk as it allows us to see both families in one trip. And as a bonus, some of my Dad’s extended family is coincidentally in the area this weekend as well. My parents have a pretty good couple of days lined up for us, so we are excited to get to spend some time with them as well.

Sitting out here on my screened in porch, I realize that I don’t have too much else to say. So I will leave you with a small photo montage of some of our memories from the week.
